Blue apatite and cleavelandite - Golconda mine, Minas Gerais,...
Small blue apatite crystals on cleavelandite, very bright and...
Rare blue tourmaline (copper-bearing) possessing some hints of green color, from a recent discovery at the Santa Rosa mine in Brazil (November 2020). According to our research, similar pieces known date from the 1960s-70s. _x000D_ The brilliance and color are great! The surfaces are vertically striated, revealing a general fibrous structure, and sometimes show different stages of growth horizontally. The endings are atypical because they are not smooth. They are indeed composed of a multitude of small acicular tourmaline crystals not always perfectly terminated. The most of this piece: its atypical architecture and obviously its superb color which make us forget the few damages present in some places, especially at the terminations.
