Dioptase on shattuckite - Mindouli, Congo
Small, well-terminated, brilliant dioptase crystals on...
A turquoise-blue chrysocolla plate that has pseudomorphosed a mineral that may resemble azurite (?), partially covered with microquartz giving the piece a certain sparkle (especially on the reverse). Small groups of dark-green, highly lustrous malachite crystals, scattered throughout the piece, complete the picture. Some damage is visible, but it is interesting to see the inside of these pseudomorphosed crystals and to offer a piece of this size at a reasonable price. Only a few pieces of this type (pseudomorphosis + micro-quartz covering the chrysocolla) were discovered in 2019 in the vicinity of Tenke-Fugurume in the Democratic Republic of Congo!
16,5 x 12 x 4 cm.
