Black tourmaline (schorl variety) sparkling, trapped in massive quartz from Biauchaud (also spelled Beauchaud). It has naturally split in two, bearing witness to the region's tectonic history. The end in the quartz is well terminated. The quartz has been sawn to isolate this crystal.
