Amethyst from a rare source: Tignere, in the Adamawa region of northern Cameroon. Harvested by hand without any mineralogical purpose, the crystals from this new occurrence are unfortunately almost all chipped. The surfaces are naturally matte, sometimes still covered with a white siliceous or ochre ferrous encrustation. However, their color is intense when backlit or when wet. These amethysts might be worth polishing or cutting...
