Quartz and chalcopyrite - Giraud mine, Isère, France
This specimen has perfectly transparent, brilliant quartz...
Quartz plate composed of well-developed crystals with smooth, shiny faces, creating an impressive vitreous lustre. Some of the crystals show a slight yellow-orange colouration at their base due to the presence of iron oxides, providing a pleasant contrast to the whole. This specimen is not only an aesthetic piece but also a fine example of the quality of quartz found in the Giraud region.
