Tourmaline – Beni Bouzra, Chefchaouen, Morocco - Thumbnail N°181

This specimen features a small orange to golden tourmaline crystal, partially translucent.

The crystal displays a well-developed prismatic habit, with longitudinal striations and a well-formed termination. Its translucency allows subtle variations in colour and lighter areas within the crystal to be seen.

For information:

- Beni Bouzra, in the Chefchaouen Province of Morocco, is now known as a locality producing tourmaline, particularly elbaite, in a range of colours. The mineralization is associated with pegmatitic structures in the Beni Bousera massif region. Quartz, microcline and beryl have also been reported from the locality.
