Fluorite and Quartz - Grand-Champ, Morbihan, France

A specimen composed of small, shiny, transparent quartz needles accompanied by numerous small blue fluorite octahedrons with purple edges (the largest of which measures 1 cm).

11.5 x 7.5 x 3.5 cm

Highlights of this specimen:

- The octahedrons are very well-formed and a good size for this location.

For your information:

- Fluorite is rather rare in Brittany! The regional geological context is not very favorable there.
Nevertheless, a few small veins have yielded remarkable specimens at Grand-Champ in Morbihan. Their size, however, remains very modest (about 2 cm at most).
- Specimen was sawn to aid in presentation.
