Fluorite and smithsonite - La Grande Vernissière, Durfort, Gard, France

Colorless fluorite with shiny surfaces, rather large for the locality, associated with smithsonite at the back and base of the specimen. The core of the main fluorite crystal shows strong fluorescence under long-wave UV light (hydrocarbon inclusion). Specimen from the former lead and zinc mine at La Grande Vernissière in Durfort in the Gard department.
