Senarmontite - Djebel Hammimat, Algeria

Specimen composed of numerous more or less shiny gray octahedral crystals of senarmontite: antimony oxide. Some edges are rubbed, others are in very good condition.
From its type locality: the former Djebel Hammimat mine in Algeria, which was operated from the 19th century until the mid-20th century. The Compagnie des mines de La Lucette, a company that also mined gold and antimony deposits in La Lucette in Mayenne in the early 20th century, was one of the operating companies.
