Fluorite - Buxières-les-Mines, Allier, France

Crystallized piece, front and back, on either side of a granitic matrix, from Buxières-les-Mines in the Allier department, whose quarries are now inaccessible.

The front is dotted with small pink to violet fluorite crystals, ranging from pseudo-cubic for the smallest to spherical for the largest crystal (4mm), all on a carpet of white micro-quartz.

The reverse side features pseudo-spherical crystals of the same color but larger in size (up to 8mm).
