Andradite garnet - Kara mines, Tasmania, Australia
Group of naturally brilliant andradite garnets, well-formed, complete and undamaged, also showing a few cavities, natural figures of dissolution. One of these contains unidentified beige, fibrous microminerals (presumed bavenite or tremolite).
Sample from a locally known but infrequently encountered source.
