Fluorite, amazonite and quartz - Fazenda do Centro, Espirito Santo, Brazil
A very rare combination of fluorite and amazonite, accompanied by a little quartz, from a recent discovery in the pegmatites of Espirito Santo, Brazil (late 2023).
The piece's architecture is rather atypical. It is the result of natural dissolution, giving it a matt appearance. In detail, the surfaces of the blue amazonite and grey quartz show satin-like reflections characteristic of micro-crystallization. Fluorite, on the other hand, is blue to slightly green and slightly translucent at the edges, then lighter and more opaque in the core, with richly embossed faces.
The pieces of this discovery that may still be on the market are fluorites, amazonite in association being very rare and/or very poorly expressed. This type of association is all the more rare as fluorite of pegmatitic origin is already very uncommon.
! A unique piece, we're not sure we'll be seeing it again any time soon!
