Pyrite and hematite - Rio Marina, Elba Island, Italy

Superb group of dodecahedral crystals of very bright pyrite on a matrix of lamellar hematite. This unique piece, the result of a relatively recent discovery (2013), was donated to finance the rehabilitation of the mining park on the island of Elba. Today, this park can be visited, and the collection of samples is forbidden, except, a priori quickly, during supervised visits.
