Fluorite - Font d'Arques, Lieuran-Cabrières, Hérault, France

Single crystal of colorless fluorite with a superb transparency that is best appreciated by handling it. The surfaces are shiny and show natural corrosion patterns, especially at the base. Some imperfections are to be noted on the edges.

Colorless fluorites of optical quality are not common, especially for this small locality of the Hérault department (see Le Règne Minéral magazine n°160).
