Scheelite - Tae Wha mine, Chungcheong province, South Korea

Very dark brown almost black scheelite single crystal, with very smooth surfaces and superb brilliance, 4.3 cm edge. Its color is an impressive icy blue under short Uvs. Pieces from this former South Korean mine closed in 1973 are rare of this quality and extremely priced! Here the price takes into account an unfortunate shock at the top (almost invisible when looking at the main face) which does not allow to qualify this piece as perfect.
