Hexagonal calcite - Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Colorless hexagonal calcite with relatively thick petals and...
A beautiful deep purple fluorite, mostly in good condition, from the recent discovery (early 2021) of a small single pocket on level 4 of the large Ojuela mine in Mexico.
The surface, shiny, as well as the edges, show natural dissolution figures. The presence of colorless to slightly golden crystallized calcite gives a nice contrast to the piece.
Fluorite is rare for this mine, especially the "good" size pieces well crystallized!
8,5 x 7,5 x 2 cm.
