Fluorite antozonite, calcite - Ojuela mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico

A beautiful deep purple antozonite fluorite in very good condition, from the recent discovery (early 2021) of a small single pocket on level 4 of the large Ojuela mine in Mexico.

The surfaces of the cubes are rather bright. The fluorite, on a limonite gangue, has been freed from a white calcite encrustation of which some remnants remain, giving a pleasant contrast to the piece.

Fluorite is rare for this mine, especially the "good" size pieces well crystallized !
