This specimen features several haüyne crystals of a particularly intense cobalt blue color, embedded in dark volcanic rock (phonolite). The two main crystals, which are well-defined, measure approximately 2.5 cm.
Haüyne exhibits a beautiful orange reaction to long-wavelength UV light.

- Haüyne is a rare sodium aluminum aluminosilicate sulfate, generally found as small crystals in certain alkaline volcanic rocks. Well-separated, vividly colored crystals are particularly sought after by collectors. In Tahiti, haüyne is notably found in the Taiarapu-Est area, on the eastern coast of the Tahiti Iti peninsula.
