Vanadinite – Mibladen Mining District, Morocco

Group of plume-shaped vanadinite crystals resting on a small base of barite. The crystals on the front display a vivid red colour and a very bright lustre, with numerous well-developed faces. On the reverse, the crystals are also red but have a more subdued lustre.

- Unfortunately, this specimen is not intact, with a small defect to note.
- The Mibladen mining district, located in Midelt Province, is a historic lead-mining district in Morocco's Middle Atlas. The mineralization is notably associated with barite and galena, with a wide variety of secondary minerals including cerussite, wulfenite, pyromorphite and vanadinite, as well as quartz, calcite, gypsum, and several copper and manganese minerals.
