Fluorite – Cave-in-Rock, Illinois, USA

This specimen features a group of purple fluorite cubes, with colours ranging from light violet to deeper purple tones. The crystals have well-developed faces and sharp edges, with visible colour zoning in several crystals.

The fluorite forms several overlapping levels, giving the specimen good relief. A few small white to colourless calcite crystals are also present on the fluorite. The reverse is also crystallized, allowing the specimen to be appreciated from several angles.
