A pair of Sri Lankan sapphires consisting of a natural crystal and a cut gemstone, allowing you to observe two different aspects of corundum. The rough crystal displays a combination of yellow and blue hues, with clearly visible crystallization. Next to it, the round brilliant-cut sapphire features a yellow hue and a cut that enhances its brilliance.

Crystallized sapphire: 1.7 × 0.7 × 0.5 cm.
Cut sapphire: 4 mm in diameter.

- Sapphire is a gem-quality variety of corundum, an aluminum oxide with the formula Al₂O₃. With a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, corundum is one of the hardest minerals after diamond. Sri Lanka, historically known as Ceylon, is one of the major sapphire-producing regions.

Although we are not gemologists, we place great importance on the authenticity of our cut stones. This gem was purchased from certified gemologists to ensure that it is a natural stone.
