This aragonite from Minglanilla, Spain, features a compact cluster of pseudo-hexagonal twinned crystals in shades of gray and light purple. The crystals display numerous well-developed, brilliant faces—particularly on the sides—giving the specimen a particularly rich and sculptural appearance.

Highlights of the specimen:

- Beautiful group composition, with several interlocking crystals that give the specimen a particularly interesting relief and structure.
- Subtle color contrasts between the purplish, grayish, and lighter areas, which appear differently depending on the specimen’s orientation.

- A representative specimen from Minglanilla, a Spanish locality particularly sought after for its twinned aragonites.

Minglanilla, in the province of Cuenca, is a classic locality for aragonite. The deposits in the region are associated with the evaporitic rocks of the Keuper Formation, dating from the Upper Triassic.
