Amethyst and Calcite – Sidi Rahal, Morocco
Large plate composed of a multitude of amethyst crystals, with colours ranging from lilac to deeper purple.
Small amethyst stalactites give this specimen considerable relief and create a highly textured surface. The crystals display a good lustre, with numerous faces catching the light.
The upper part is largely covered with small pale yellow calcite crystals, including numerous small calcite spheres standing out in relief against the amethyst surface. These rounded formations add a different texture and enhance the contrast between the two minerals.
