Fluorite – Berbes, Asturias, Spain

Specimen featuring a lilac fluorite single crystal, with clearly visible bevelled edges on the cube. The crystal displays particularly interesting colour zoning, with dark purple bands following the edges of the cube and a clearly visible purple core within the crystal.

The fluorite is translucent to transparent in places, with well-developed and lustrous crystal faces.

- The Berbes area, in Asturias, is one of Spain's classic fluorite localities. The crystals are typically cubic and often show attractive colour zoning, with fluorite commonly associated with barite and quartz.
