A superb tabular single crystal of colorless calcite, of the “Paperspath” type, from Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans in Isère.

The crystal is distinguished by its exceptional transparency, which allows for a very detailed view of the internal structures. Numerous growth figures and internal striations run through the crystal, forming delicate patterns that give this specimen a particularly graphic appearance.

The crystal’s highly flattened geometry, combined with its great clarity and the play of light on its faces, gives it a remarkable aesthetic. A few fine fibers of byssolite are also present, adding an extra detail to the overall appearance.
