A particularly thick azurite single crystal with a compact shape and well-developed faces. Its very deep blue color—almost blue-black in some areas—contrasts with the vivid blue reflections that appear on the faces when they catch the light. The luster of the crystal surfaces is remarkable and perfectly highlights the crystal’s geometry. The well-defined upper termination harmoniously completes the overall appearance. A very beautiful specimen due to its color, brilliance, and the imposing presence of its single crystal.

Azurite is a copper carbonate with the formula Cu₃(CO₃)₂(OH)₂. It forms primarily in the oxidation zones of copper deposits, where it results from the weathering of primary copper-bearing minerals. Its intense blue color is one of its most remarkable characteristics.

Azurites from Kerrouchen are a classic of Moroccan mineralogy. They are particularly prized for the intensity of their color, the quality of their crystal faces, and their luster, which can result in highly aesthetic specimens.
