Highly prized for its intense and unique cobalt blue color, haüyne is a rare mineral, and it is even rarer to find it well-crystallized.
Here, this phonolite specimen contains several crystals, including an elongated cluster measuring 1.3 cm, all of which are highly translucent.

5.7 x 4.3 x 2 cm

Highlights of this specimen:

- The centimeter-sized crystallization of the haüyne
- The contrast between the cobalt blue of the haüyne and the dark volcanic rock (phonolite)
- The locality of this specimen is also noteworthy, as it comes from a small French deposit in Tahiti. The best-known locality for haüyne is the Eifel Mountains in Germany
