      Specimen composed of hematite in small, highly lustrous hexagonal lamellae arranged on a bumpy plate of white quartz that previously encased other minerals (perimorphosis of a probable carbonate, calcite, and/or siderite).

      - The hematite lamellae are extremely lustrous.

      - These specimens were discovered by chance in 2003 during topographical surveys of World War I bunkers at the summit of the Tête du Violu (Bernardstein vein) in the Vosges Mountains near Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines (source: mindat).
      This little-known discovery was reported in *Le Règne Minéral* No. 103, January/February 2012.
