Quartz with rutile inclusions - Morasco region, Piedmont, Italy
Translucent quartz with golden rutile inclusions, delicately...
A translucent quartz point with a distinct shape, featuring several naturally sharp and brilliant crystal faces (they have not been resurfaced). Its transparency allows one to observe numerous rutile needles that run through the crystal in various directions, forming a particularly dense network.
The needles, which are very fine and range in color from golden to slightly coppery, are particularly abundant in this specimen. Some are extremely delicate and give the interior of the quartz an almost fibrous appearance when viewed up close.
2.8 x 2 x 1.7 cm
Highlights of this specimen:
- A classic and sought-after source for quartz with rutile inclusions.
- Entirely natural, unpolished crystal
- Very high density of inclusions, giving this small specimen a striking presence.
- A beautiful reference piece for a collection dedicated to quartz with inclusions.
For your information
The surfaces of these quartz specimens are often polished or resurfaced after extraction to achieve greater transparency and luster. A specimen that has retained its natural surfaces and original luster is quite rare.
