Polyhedral agate - Sitio Garguelo, Paraiba, Brazil
Polished slice of polyhedral agate, to be appreciated as such...
A polished polyhedral agate with a particularly well-defined triangular shape, its edges slightly rounded by polishing.
The piece features a beautiful sequence of concentric zones in shades of gray, beige, and white, with a wide translucent border and a striking white band that highlights the agate’s geometric shape. In the center, a small cavity is lined with fine, sparkling crystals, adding depth and brilliance to the piece.

For your information
Paraíba polyhedral agates are agates that formed within polygonal cavities, giving the specimens their characteristic geometric contours. They were discovered in Brazil in the 1970s. Their formation is generally interpreted as the total or partial filling of spaces left between ancient crystals, often attributed to calcite (see *Le Règne Minéral* No. 163)
