Prehnite - Diamonkara, Kayes, Mali

A generous cluster of light green prehnite consisting of numerous spheres of varying sizes, with shiny, slightly translucent surfaces. The different layers of spheres give the cluster significant depth and a particularly rich texture. Fine epidote needles are visible as inclusions in certain areas of the prehnite, adding further interest to the crystallization. Measuring nearly 6.5 cm wide, this specimen makes a striking display piece.

- Numerous light green prehnite spheres of varying sizes, giving the specimen a lot of depth
- Well-crystallized (rare!) and shiny surface
- Translucent prehnite in certain areas.

A few incomplete spheres, revealing the fibrous, radiating internal structure of the prehnite.

Diamonkara is a mineral site located in the commune of Diakon, in the Bafoulabé Circle, Kayes Region, Mali. This locality is particularly known for its associations of prehnite and epidote, which constitute a characteristic combination found in specimens from this area. Prehnite from Diamonkara can occur as spheres, botryoidal aggregates, or more stalactitic formations, with colors ranging from light green to a deeper green.
