Smoky Quartz – Petites Aiguilles Rouges du Dolent, Haute-Savoie, France

This specimen features a well-defined and intact main smoky quartz crystal with a fairly uniform smoky brown hue. The crystal has well-developed faces and a clean termination speckled with chlorite.
It rests directly on a matrix on which several small colorless quartz crystals are visible. The combination of the well-defined smoky crystal and this crystallized matrix gives the specimen a natural and balanced appearance.
