Quartz and calcite - Jan Coetzee mine, Northern Cape, South Africa
Entirely crystallized (floating) piece consisting of a flat quartz whose dark color seems to be given by the slightly green base (probably chlorites) and a level of red inclusions (hematite?). A few calcites are present on the back.
From an old collection, this quartz was extracted from the Jan Coetzee copper mine in South Africa, closed in 1971.
